4 Ways that you can know
According to I. John chapter 5
1. Jesus will be committed to you.:
I. John 5:12 - He is yours eternally.
I. John 5:14 - He listens to your prayers and answers your prayers. He brings you peace and comfort. He is with you now in the present as well as the future.
2. You will be given a new nature:
I John 5:18 - Desires to live the old lifestyle passes away, and you begin to hunger and thirst after the things of God. Everyday you realize that there has been a change in your life; and you desire to do the right things in your daily life.
I John 5:16 - You will have a new power to overcome temptation in your life. There will be no sin that comes into your life that you will not be able to overcome through the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in you {this means the habitual sin}.
There will be a changed lifestyle!
3. Jesus will correct me when I choose to sin.
I John 5:16 - Whom He loves He chastens. A sin leading to death is simply when a person who is saved refuses to look or act like Jesus. They live a life that brings shame on the name of Jesus. God will take whatever is most precious to you and use it to chastise you and bring you back into repentance. If you continue to live outside His will and continue to bring shame on His Son's name then He will take you out of this world.
4. Jesus will give you a new hunger for Him.
I John 5:20 - He will enlighten your mind to Him and His Word. You will read the Scriptures and He will speak to your heart and soul. He gives you guidance and wisdom for your daily life.
I John 2:10 - You will live daily in obedience to His Word; if you sin and fall back into your old nature then you will repent and ask for forgiveness, then begin your walk of obedience with Jesus again. You will desire to be more like Jesus everyday and He will clean you up from the inside out.
You will desire to live a life that will not cause another person to fall {stumble} away from God.
You will have a love for other people above the love that you have for yourself.
You will always remember that you are the fragrance or aroma of Jesus Christ to this lost world.
You choose to either carry life to someone lost or you can choose to carry death through your actions.
